Six entire weeks in feels like a big accomplishment, yet still so far from finishing the challenge in my mind. This week was a bit chaotic with a 48 hour trip to Colorado, so having the dress and outfits lined up was a nice relief from any unnecessary decisions.

Sunday, April 9 (day thirty-six)

Easter Sunday! I was surprised how much I missed my family on this day, because we hadn’t gotten together for Easter in ages. But, with Leah at an age where holidays like Easter are such a joy, I think that really brought on the memories of childhood Easter traditions. We made bunny shaped pancakes, watched Steel Magnolias, and went out to eat at Tacotarian.

Monday, April 10 (day thirty-seven)

Nothing too eventful happening this day. We went to the library to pick up interactive books for our upcoming flight/travel to Denver and we went on a hike.

Tuesday, April 11 (day thirty-eight)

Love my little morning work buddy! It has been a busy season in work life right now, which can be mega stressful, but without a doubt, Leah makes my whole world better! I feel so much more grounded and at peace knowing how happy she is and that I am her mother.

Wednesday, April 12 (day thirty-nine)

Recognizing a theme here this week of wearing the dress on it’s own. Which is totally okay with me! The weather was beautiful this week, and we’ve been busy packing and keeping Leah off of climbing things that wearing the same outfit every day does not phase me! It is nicer to catch a glimpse of myself in the mirror wearing my dress instead of sweats or pajamas, so that’s a huge bonus.

Thursday, April 13 (day forty)

Day forty in Colorado! Another hotel bathroom for my photos and yet another state this dress has been to with me, affording me extra room in our luggage. Today I had a work visit and I also was able to squeeze in a dinner with my old college roommate.

Friday, April 14 (day forty-one)

Oh dear, another bathroom photo, restaurant edition! I promise the restaurant was lovely and fantastic, but the bathrooms had an interesting vibe for sure. Man this was rough getting a selfie in with the dress showing while wearing a sweater. I knew I’d be out and about the rest of the day and I wanted to snap pictures while it was on my mind. The temperature dropped from upper 70s the day prior to SNOWING on Friday. Needless to say, I was bundled up!

Saturday, April 15 (day forty-two)

Ah, so happy to be back home in the warm and sunny Southern Nevada. David had to work the weekend this weekend, so I was on (mostly) solo parenting duty. We also were in dire need of grocery shopping so that and laundry were the main highlights of this day. Oh, and braids, I used to wear braids all the time with long hair, then I cut it off and stopped braiding my hair. Now, I’m back on the braid train!

Pregnancy Journal this week (Week 24)

Ah, the troubles of traveling by air while pregnant. Fortunately, the flight to Denver was less than two hours both ways. However, the leg swelling, the way sitting for too long pinches a nerve that runs down my leg…. it still happened! Fortunately, I recovered rather quickly in a day or so. đŸ™‚

Week 24 was a time where I started to really feel like I’m enjoying the way I look while pregnant. Also, I’ve started to think more about birth this time around and a few little details of how things will work with two littles. For example, we have an outdoor staircase from our second floor unit to get to our garage. When I’m heading out for a stroller walk with the two, or heading out to the store, how am I going to walk down with both of them? Currently, Leah is not walking down the stairs and certainly would bolt toward the sidewalk in one direction or another. Am I going to have to wear a baby carrier to make sure I have two hands for the other one?

Despite the extra time I recognize most things will take with two, I’m so excited for this little girl and her presence in our family. I truly feel so happy that I’m getting closer and closer to meeting her.
