Sunday, April 16 (day forty-three)

French braid today! A low-key day at home, getting ready for the week, enjoying the sunshine!

Monday, April 17 (day forty-four)

Okay, here was when I started realizing I’ve been wearing my dress on its own for a while now, and I was starting to feel ready to get a little more creative.

Tuesday, April 18 (day forty-five)

Absolutely IN LOVE with the way this dress looks with one of my favorite skirts atop. It definitely fits a bit more snug from the baby bump, but I loved wearing this outfit, and it will be coming back for other appearances this summer/rest of the challenge.

Wednesday, April 19 (day forty-six)

It got a little chilly in Vegas today, so I didn’t mind the opportunity to wear the extra layer to add a little diversity to the wardrobe this week.

Thursday, April 20 (day forty-seven)

I am a recovering scarf addict, and I recently found an entire bin of my old scarves. I enjoyed finding a few that I liked with the dress, and I think it will help break up the monotamy of wearing the dress on its own this summer when it gets very hot yet not add much warmth.

Friday, April 21 (day forty-eight)

I’ll be honest, today was a very warm day here. BUT I was on multiple meetings for work, so I added a layer for the camera. After work (2pm) I was wearing the dress on her own.

Saturday, April 22 (day forty-nine)

Happy Earth Day! I felt proud to be taking part of the sustainable fashion challenge on this Earth Day. I also have been a vegan for almost seven years, which also makes me realize how meaningful small changes can become. Today, David raced a 40 mile bike race called the Tour de Summerlin, and Leah and I got to cheer for him! We also had a nice breakfast date and a fund time at the playground as David was biking.

Being pregnant, I’ve been surprised how much I miss the extra bit of support that pants or shorts add to my belly while I’m on my feet for long periods. I decided to buy these maternity bike shorts to go underneath to help with the challenge. They are working out wonderfully. I think I would have been dreading the thought of being out and about on my feet for so long in the dress had it not been for the bike shorts underneath.

Pregnancy Journal this week (week 25)

Oh wow. What to say. The baby is getting so much longer now (over a foot!) and stronger and stronger every day. It has gotten to the point where I am so startled when she moves, kicks, or just rolls along my inner belly wall. My thoughts always go to– whoa, there is a real, live human INSIDE of me! What a special gift, and I truly feel that way. I cannot wait to meet her.

We are working through ideas for her name, and have thus far not decided on one. I’m sure it will be perfect for her when we decide on one. Love you, little lady bug!
