December 27 (day before “due date”)
Today, I woke up early again and journaled. I showered and got ready for our doctor’s appointment. Everything was about the same as last week, but he did do a membrane sweep and stretch.
We came home and I went on a walk. It was a very windy day. When I got home from a walk, David and I put up the hangboard in our bedroom. It looks great! While we were putting up the hangboard, I started feeling a lot of cramps. I was hopeful this meant I was going into labor soon and that the membrane sweep really worked.
After finishing the hangboard, we ate lunch and I took a nap. By the time I woke up, I wasn’t noticing any more cramps. I had a cup of coffee and then David and I went on a second walk. There were very ominous looking clouds, but we were able to get in a decent walk without getting caught in a rainstorm.
We relaxed the rest of the night and gave each other massages. I went to bed hopeful that real contractions would begin in my sleep, since that sounds like a common time for contractions to begin – especially after a membrane sweep.
