With the Strip being toward the lowest point in the Las Vegas valley, there are a few trails where you get an amazing view of the lights and glamour of the Strip.
Seeing the Strip from afar, in a desert landscape, and surrounded by red sandstone gives your brain a gymnastics workout. Are stark contrast, yet you find things to admire and appreciate about each environment.
That said, here is where you can get that view while out hiking and getting your workout in for the day!
Calico Tanks
(2.2 Miles roundtrip)
Type: Out and Back
Elevation Gain: 406 Feet

This is the best trail, in my opinion, to see the Strip. Perhaps because the nature around you and around your view is so beautiful as well. The trail is extremely well marked up until the little lake/resevoir/”hole”. After that, if you stick to the rocks on the right side of the hole, you get a great Strip view and nice breeze!
Kraft Mountain Loop
(3.2 mile loop)
Type: Loop
Elevation Gain: 600 Feet

I am shocked this is the first time typing on the blog about the Kraft Mountain Loop. This is – by far – the trail we have hiked the most in Las Vegas. It is a perfect amount of workout, a short uphill to begin and primarily flat the rest of the way. To see the Strip, you will get a great view between the valley of Gateway Canyon along the east/southeast side of the loop. We have caught beautiful moon rises near the Strip as well.
Lone Mountain Loop
(3.2 mile loop)
Type: Loop
Elevation Gain: 738 Feet

This is a fun trail in the middle of neighborhoods and has a robust park nearby. We have many times hiked this trail only doing the loop without hiking to the top, which is absolutely acceptable. You can see the Strip unobstructed from the loop as well.
