We recently spent one week in Park City, Utah in the month of May. We stayed at an Airbnb (this one is perfect!), while working, cooking most of our meals, and exploring Park City activities in the evenings! For some reason, I always envisioned myself loving Park City. When we first got there, it felt different than I imagined and I wasn’t sure I was going to love it. Honestly though, with each new passing day, we discovered more amazing things about Park City. By the end of the trip, we were sold and we absolutely love the city. We are not into winter sports (yet!), so being here in the summer had its perks for us. Here is what we loved experiencing in Park City!

Activities

  1. Hiking the Armstrong Trail and many of the trails connected in this area. There is a strong foundation for mountain biking in the summer in Park City. We do have and love mountain bikes, but for this trip, with a five month old baby — mountain biking did not make our agenda. However, all of these trails are accessible to hiking and we were able to walk from our doorstep onto trails and choose how long we wanted to hike!
  2. Walking along the bike/walking paths. With a stroller, we really appreciated the nice network of paved walking/biking paths to get to downtown and the shopping areas, and even all the way out to the farmstead.
  3. Shopping around the downtown area. There are so many fun shops and awesome brands that have stores in the downtown of Park City. We loved (once again) being able to walk from our doorstep to downtown with the stroller and along the creek to check out all of the shops. Important note — if you are traveling to Park City with a stroller, be aware that some of the stores and shopping areas have weird steps that are not the easiest to navigate with a stroller!
  4. Checking out the Olympic Park. We spent one afternoon visiting the Olympic Park and Kimball Junction. It was very fun.

Eating

This was one area we felt Park City was lacking a bit for us — there were limited vegan options for eating out. We did fall in love with a few places though.

  1. Baan Thai – Whoa, this place was our favorite. It was pricey, but it was amazing. We ordered the spring rolls, Pad See Ewe, and Pumpkin Tofu Curry. Everything was spectacular, and potentially the best thai food we have ever eaten.
  2. Fairweather Natural Foods – This was a spot we discovered close to the end of our trip. They had so many goodies in their grocery store, but their prepared food — including smoothies and baked goods were delicious and felt like nice, veggie-forward options!
  3. Nosh – Another nice option for vegan dining, and the only spot I remembered to take a picture.

Coffee

Coming from a home with an espresso machine and a habit of drinking excellent lattes daily, our trip was not complete without visiting several coffee shops. A few places we approve of their lattes include:

  1. Atticus Coffee, Tea, and Bookhouse
  2. PC Desserts
  3. Silver King Coffee

We hope you get to visit Park City in the summer one day, because it is a worthy summer travel destination! We loved the location, the weather, and the biker/walker friendly community we found there.
