Last month, I started a series of all of the weekend trip destinations you could visit from Las Vegas, Nevada. This is another spot you should check out, and is easily within driving distance for a long weekend from Las Vegas. At the same time, you easily could spend much more time here! Another idea is to take a trip to San Diego and stay a night or two in Palm Springs on your way back home.

David and I realize that we have a special love for vacations spent in towns that have a local, artsy-type downtown and at the same time are minutes away from adventure — like hiking, biking, or the ocean. Palm Springs is one of those places, and we certainly love it here! We loved spending hours walking around their small downtown, shopping and browsing everywhere that intrigued us. At the same time, there are hikes you can start from the hotel — depending on where you stay — and so much adventure! Here are are few of our picks for activities, eats, and where to stay.

More places like this include: Tepotzlan, Mexico, Park City, Utah, and Chattanooga, Tennessee!

Activities
Ride your bike around the bike paths. We brought our bikes and pedaled our way around the bike paths nearby our hotels.
Relax by the pool. Admittedly, I thought this was all there was to do in Palm Springs before I researched and saw just how many things you can do there!
Hike. We ran out of time for this, shockingly! But when we come back, we are planning a trip to Indian Canyons and perhaps taking the tram to explore higher in the mountains.
Shop! Nothing feels more like vacation sometimes than checking out a string of local shops. You never know what you’ll find!

Restaurants
-Our first meal in Palm Springs was at Chef Tanya’s Kitchen. We loved it so much, we came back the next day and we bought a few grocery items.
-We bought vegan date shakes from Native Foods. These were divine.
-On our second anniversary, we had dinner and virgin margaritas at Tac/Quila, and we loved it!

Where to Stay
We were there for our anniversary, so we wanted something nice, although not entirely extravagant. Therefore, we ended up at the Palm Mountain Resort. The rooms were standard, a bit aged, but clean and welcoming. The pool and main areas were wonderful!
