Last month, we celebrated Leah’s first birthday! She is such a bundle of joy, emotions, humor, and is learning to copy almost everything we say and do. This has been such a fun age for us with Leah.

I always love seeing and reading what other parents find to be their favorites for different ages of their children. As we enter our second year of parenting, a lot of the items we use on a daily basis have changed. We have bought a lot of new things, but the ones listed here are items we truly can’t stop talking about with everyone we know!

Evenflo Gold Revolve360 Car Seat

We looked off and on for a convertible car seat for a while. We went into stores twice to look at the different options in person, to see how easy they would be to install, and to feel how heavy or comfortable the seat seemed. This one was not even on our radar until we were in a parking lot and I watched a mom put her child into this carseat while he was facing the door and she quickly swiveled him into position. I was amazed, immediately asked her what carseat she had, and the rest was history. We LOVE this carseat and we’re finding more reasons to like it all the time.

hiccapop Inflatable Toddler Bed with Safety Rails

We originally bought this for a camping trip, since it seemed like it would keep her warmer more than her travel crib that lies on the ground. It was a very positive experience and a solid night of sleep for Leah in our first experience with it. We like it so much, we are starting to consider using it for traveling elsewhere — such as when we visit family or stay in hotel rooms. One other note, if you have the SlumberPod blackout tent (another favorite!), it does fit over this air mattress but it is a tight squeeze.

One side note-I’m slightly frightened by how much we’ve invested in sleep products over the course of Leah’s lifetime. I guess it just is a demonstration on how much we value sleep!

Hakaa Silicone Sippy Cup

After a few rough days of transitioning, Leah no longer uses a bottle. We’ve tried several cups and water bottles, but this one is the crown jewel! Unlike our other ones, the straw on this one is so loose that it slides to wherever the lowest point in the cup is at any moment. That means she can still drink milk while drinking from the cup at any angle. I hope this doesn’t sound like nonsense — but there have been annoying times with the other cups where she’s sucking air instead of milk because of where the bottom of the straw is located.

Silicone Straw Cup

In other transitions, we have transitioned from a smoothie pouch to this cup for morning smoothies. I like that it doesn’t spill out too quickly and she loves having the independence of holding her own smoothie cup.

Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?

This is not new to us by any means, but our one year old is very interested in animals lately, so this book is a huge hit right now. It is especially popular when we add animal noises for each page.

Snack Tray for the Uppababy Vista 2 Stroller

Sometimes, the only way we get a good meal in is by cutting it up and putting it on the snack tray during a walk. Sometimes, when Leah is done with being in a stroller, we can keep her satisfied with snacks.
