With the Strip being toward the lowest point in the Las Vegas valley, there are a few trails where you get an amazing view of the lights and glamour of the Strip. Seeing the Strip from afar, in a desert landscape, and surrounded by red sandstone gives your brain a […]
Cross-country road trip: all you need to start planning today!
Before moving from Indianapolis to Las Vegas, we took a road trip for a five week trip out to Las Vegas and back to Indianapolis on a different route. This google maps link (+screenshot below) includes all of our stops to and from Indianapolis. This trip has been one of […]
How to start your ambitious dream of climbing outdoors in Vegas!
The accessibility and the lovely weather for rock climbing — both sport and bouldering — is one of the main reasons we moved to Las Vegas. We would spend days and nights climbing in Kraft Boulders on vacations prior to moving to Las Vegas, and getting to do so during […]
Best summer hikes in So. Nevada: Cathedral Rock
It is no secret that summers in Southern Nevada can be extremely hot. While the dry heat is a marvel, the temperatures are still brutal on many days in the summer months. As hikers and parents of an infant, we head up to Mount Charleston as often as possible to […]
Graze your way through Graze Kitchen’s outstanding menu
We visited the *somewhat* new vegan restaurant in Las Vegas, Graze Kitchen for the first time, recently, and we are hooked! Whether you live in Las Vegas or you are using Las Vegas as the launch pad for your trip (great idea!), there is a load of destinations within a four hour driving radius to have a wonderful two or three day excursion. As a duo of 9-5ers, we have made […]
New camera on a hike in Lee Canyon, Nevada
We hiked the Upper Bristlecone trail in Lee Canyon, Nevada in the Spring Mountains for the first time in 2022. This was also our first time on one of our favorite trails with our daughter. After splurging on a new camera, we spent the day taking pictures along one of […]
White Rock Hills Loop
This is one of our favorite hikes within the Scenic Loop in Red Rock Canyon. The loop is a little over 6 miles and you get fantastic views of a hidden forest behind White Rock Hill and also of Turtlehead peak.
